So how’s your vision for 2020 going so far? (Yes, that pun was intended.) All visionaries knew this year was going to be filled with puns. “I can just see it now,” they said, all of months ago.
But let’s get back to the question: how is your 2020 going? I mean, we’re now at the end of January. How are those new year resolutions holding up?
For some, their 2020 plans may have been short-sighted. (Haha! Ok, I’ll stop now.) As is so often the case, we head into the new year with so much gusto – we’re going to go on diet, lose weight, pay off debt, make new friends, see new places, do new things… and then life happens. All sorts of circumstances ransack our storehouse of best intentions. It’s only in hindsight that we see how these things could possibly be avoided. (Ok, I really will stop now.)
I once heard a wise man say: “Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”
I’m aware that, for myself – and I think this is true of others – we seldom have the capacity to see that challenges are interesting when we’re in the trenches of life. If someone were to say that to you, it could come across as a bit of an insult, depending on what you are dealing with.
However, for all the puns on vision and hindsight in 2020 etc, I really believe this right now in February:
Overcoming our challenges does truly make life more meaningful.Wise Man
That’s easily said, I know. But let’s go for it, you and I. Hopes and dreams and goals and yes, vision. Let’s keep all those things within our sights this year.
(Over and out.)
